Books that are full of sunshine and will make you feel happy

Who doesn’t need a happy book recommendation to make them smile whilst they’re reading it? I think it’s the perfect pick me up. So here is a list of books that just make me smile and are full of sunshine!

The Black Flamingo, Dean Atta

Whilst this book deals with a very serious topic, it is presented in a very clever way and honestly, it couldn’t not put a smile on my face. This book is more in this blog post because it is empowering and makes me smile and happy for that reason.

Radio Silence, Alice Oseman

This book is just plain empowering, cute and wholesome. It isn’t caught up in a romance, it is about friendship and determination and it is just very honest as a young adult contemporary. It will most likely offer the perfect distraction from any rubbish things happening around you.

Jack of Hearts, L. C. Rosen

This book is pure laughs, pure fun and pure sex! I read this book when I was really in the mood for something fun and easy and it was exactly that. It put a smile on my face and I loved following Jack alongside his school journey.

What If It’s Us, Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera

This is such a cute story about finding love and also trying to work out what the hell you’re doing with your life. I found it very cute and uplifting and also not too cheesy or unrealistic. It’s a real nice easy YA contemporary read that will put a smile on your face.

In At The Deep End, Kate Davies

If you want a book that will make you laugh so much you pee your pants just a tiny bit, this is the book for you. It is hilarious, easy to read and all-round good fun. I would also add that there are some very adult sexual scenes in this book, so if you’re not one to read a raunchy scene, step away from the book!
