Drum roll please, today I am announcing the TolkienAThon, a Lord of the Rings themed, Tolkien obsessed, read-along! This is hosted by myself and Ashleigh from A Frolic Through Fiction and moderated by Lauren from FictionTea.
This will be a four-month-long read-along of The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkien and I cannot wait! I have loved the trilogy of Lord of the Rings films since I was a child, often pretending to be Legolas running through a forest with the bow and arrows my grandad made me. The magical world of elves, orcs, goblins, ghosts, wizards, ents, there’s just so much wonder and depth to this universe.
I’ve been thinking about finishing reading the series recently and when I introduced my sister to the films for the first time last month, I knew the time I had come. And apparently, after I floated the idea on Twitter, a lot of you guys were interested to join in! So with Ashleigh and Lauren on board, we have created this exciting read-along for you guys!

I don’t know if I’ll participate to the readalong, but it looks so exciting! I don’t know any of the characters (by some miracle, I haven’t consumed any LOTR content), but I’m nevertheless excited to do this tag, but nearer to the end of August!

I’m actually currently finishing up my annual reread of LOTR, but if I hadn’t yet read it this year, and wasn’t going to be in the thick of uni the next few months, I’d love to take part. Wooot, go you!! While I loved The Hobbit, I wasn’t a fan of the LOTR trilogy and just never got into the books or the movies. Hopefully you enjoy it and have a fantastic time with it!
