AUTUMN SERIES: My Autumn TBR

I love Autumn, if you didn’t get that already from visiting my blog. The browning leaves, being able to wear jumpers and coats, those colder and darker evenings just made for reading. Mmmm, what’s not to love? (Well actually I did list a few things in my unpopular autumn opinions post)

I don’t usually make TBR posts anymore, mainly because I don’t usually have set a TBR each month. But I thought I’d put together a list of the books I plan to read over this season. There’s a mix of books I need to read to review and also books I’m reading because HALLOWEEN! I love Halloween too, the magic and the excuse to explore fantasy even more, I wish we celebrated it more in the UK.

I’ll start with the horror books I’ll be adding into my TBR, I’m not expecting to get through all of these, but there the ones I have still to read:

• Salem’s Lost, Stephen King
• The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, Stephen King
• Horror Stories, E. Nesbit

I read IT by Stephen King last year and loved it, so I thought I’d add some more of his books to my TBR. Have you read anything by him? I thought the way he wrote IT was so well done, the narrative was busy, but it made sense and read really well.

I also think you have to throw in some witchy/magical books for the Halloween season, so here’s some books with a little bit of magic I’ve added to my TBR for Autumn:

• The Light Between Worlds, Laura E. Weymouth
• The Binding, Bridget Collins
• The Priory of the Orange Tree, Samantha Shannon

These are all books I have received to review, but they are all magical fantasies and I can’t wait. They’re all very different, The Light Between Worlds sounds quite Narnia-esk and The Binding is about a book binder being able to capture memories. The Priory of the Orange Tree is completely different, it’s a whole new world of an epic fantasy, featuring dragons would you believe it from that cover?!

There’s a few more books that are on my TBR just because I want to or need to read them and I thought they’d be perfect for Autumn too:

• Angels and Demons, Dan Brown (I’m going to Rome, where this book is set so I’d like to read it before I go)
• The Gilded King, Josie Jaffrey (A book I have been kindly sent to review)
• The Secret History, Donna Tartt

So that’s my Autumn TBR, again I won’t be reading all of these books, but it’s a rough idea.
