Summer is the best time to read books in my opinion, the weather is warm and you can spend hours sat outside with your stories. So here’s some book series I’m recommending to you for summer reading.
These are all complete series so there’s no risk of you loving them and then having to wait for more. You can get your hands on all of these books now… do I sound like a book saleswoman yet?
Anna and the French Kiss, Stephanie Perkins
Series summary: A series about different girls and their paths to finding love and happiness through whatever life throws at them.
I am hoping to finish the last two books in this trilogy in the summer months, it just screams sun and relaxation. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Anna and the French Kiss, then there is Lola and the Boy Next Door and Isla and the Happily Ever After. They’re just cute contemporary reads, they don’t require too much concentration and they’re good fun reads.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, Jenny Han
Series summary: A series about Lara Jean and her romantic fails and successes after a selection of love letters she wrote years ago are sent to their recipients.
I read these books using audible last year because I wanted to watch the Netflix film and I really loved them. They’re cute and cosy and perfect for the summer. They’re short reads so you could probably get through them in a day of lounging about in the sun. The first book is To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, followed by P.S. I Still Love You and then Always and Forever, Lara Jean.
Caraval, Stephanie Garber
Series summary: Caraval is a game of magic and surprises and sisters Tella and Scarlett must play the game, taking more from it than they expected to.
This isn’t a contemporary series like the other two, this is a fantasy trilogy. The world allows impossibilities to be possible, it is truly magical and it’s on this list because it’s a book you can lose yourself in which is perfect for summer! There is romance, magic and a lot of surprises. The first book is Caraval, then Legendary and lastly Finale.
Strange the Dreamer, Laini Taylor
Series summary: Lazlo Strange thinks he is very normal, but when he enters into Weep and sees the magic of this ancient city, he starts to question everything he thought he knew.
This duology is one of my all time favourites, I just adore it. It’s the perfect amount of fantasy and reads so well because Laini Taylor is a Queen. If you like historical books and you like a good epic fantasy, smush that together and you have this series. The first book is Strange the Dreamer then followed by Muse of Nightmares.

Aw I love Anna and the French Kiss!
Perfect choices 🥰 I love TATBILB, Caraval, and Strange. They’re some of my favorite series and absolutely perfect for summer!
I real “Anna and the French Kiss” and “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” during the summer of 2018 — very appropriate summer reads in my personal opinion! Light and fun 🙂 I’m excited to eventually read “Caraval”! So many great things I’ve heard!
I will have to check these series out. I have Strange The Dreamer on my shelf and want to read it soon. I hope it’s as good, if not better than Daughter of Smoke & Bone.
I’m hoping to read the L.A. Candy series by Lauren Conrad this summer!
