The Greatest Showman book tag

I was tagged by FictionTea and Connie Reads in December to do the Greatest Showman Book Tag, I LOVED this film so of course I’m excited to take part. The original tag was created by NightlyReading, so thank you to her for working on creating these questions.

It’s everything you’ll ever want, it’s everything you’ll ever need… here’s my answers!

THE GREATEST SHOW // In which the intro is amazing?

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera has a very poignant start because in it you learn the end of the book, which I suppose is also told to you by the title. This book is one that really stuck with me after reading it and I think the introduction sets it up really well and outlines two very different characters to us that we will grow to love throughout the course of the book.

A MILLION DREAMS // In which things get a little too dragged?

Tower of Dawn dragged for me, I found the start semi interesting, but after a while it was just a repetitive story. The plot didn’t really change much or go in any surprising directions and it was quite predictable. I felt like at the end of this book I wasn’t really in a different place to when I started it, it could have been a lot shorter and still have the same outcome.

COME ALIVE // In which there’s a good plot twist?

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown is just one big plot twist really, the narrative is constantly changing direction and become more and more exciting. I really enjoyed reading this one because I was always surprised and intrigued to read more. This is a book to make you think and it keeps offering plot twists to make you question everything you thought you’d guesses.

THE OTHER SIDE // In which a Villain turns into a good guy or vice versa?

Honestly don’t know where I stand with this, but I am never sure with who the villain is in Vicious and Vengeful by Victoria Schwab. This series is amazing and is really character driven, which I love. Both main characters think each other are the villains, but who really is the bad guy and who becomes the good buy?

NEVER ENOUGH // In which you hate the love triangle?

I am massively struggling to think of any love triangles at the moment  to be honest, all I can think of is To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, but I didn’t hate that one. I just found it a little annoying at times! It was hard to keep up with which boy you should like best, a bit of a Twilight situation going on.

THIS IS ME // In which representation is amazing?

The Magnus Chase series is hugely diverse and really encompasses some amazing representation. The characters range in race, gender, sexuality and religion. If you’re looking for something diverse and also very funny, then this series would be perfect for you! I can’t sing this books praises enough, the representation is seamless and fits into the story exactly as it should do.

REWRITE THE STARS // In Which It’s ‘Us Against The World’ (Not Necessarily Romantic)

Caraval by Stephanie Garber is the perfect book for this with the duo of Scarlett and Julian. I love this paring, it’s one you don’t expect and one that you love! They compliment each other well and are striving to bring down Legend and solve his twisted puzzle.

TIGHTROPE // In which the love triangle took a wrong turn?

I took far too long to come up with an answer for this question and I finally have one! I’m going to say Vicious again for this one, Eli and Victor both love the same woman and it ultimately causes her demise at the start of the book. Does that count? I’m claiming it as an answer to this question.

FROM NOW ON // In which the protagonist only gets their stuff together in the end?

Feyre from the ACOTAR series, she is a pretty good character throughout the series, but I find that she really comes into her own in the last book A Court of Wings and Ruin. There is a huge battle scene full of epic moments in the final book and I feel like this is when she really embraces the character she has become.
