Autumn is here… nearly…! I love this time of year, it’s cosy and beautiful and it leads up to Christmas. I do really like the summer and being able to read outside, but these colder months encourage me to stay in and blog more. So I wanted to recommend to you some autumn-themed blog post ideas.
1. Your autumn TBR
If you’re anything like me, you tend to lean towards certain genres in certain seasons. I read contemporaries in the warmer months and fantasies in the colder ones. Autumn is definitely a season for fantasy books, and maybe a little horror. So why not map out all the books you’d like to read in autumn and post out a to be read update.
2. Autumn coloured books
Oranges, reds, yellows, browns, there are so many beautiful book covers that you could feature as part of this blog post. Have a little search through your bookshelves and see what you can spot that would be perfect for an autumn coloured books post. You could make this a really beautiful Instagram photo too, maybe add in some fallen leaves and a jumper or two.
3. Autumn book releases you’re looking forward to
There are SO MANY amazing books coming out this season, I love hearing hype for books people are excited about. Head to Goodreads and familiarise yourself with the new releases coming out in the next few months, see which ones you’d like to read and add them to a blog post to get everyone excited for their release.
4. Your autumn wardrobe
I love a little wardrobe tour, especially at this time of year. I’ve just stocked up on four new jumpers that I’m patiently waiting to be able to wear. I think autumn is one of the most fun times of years for outfits and I love to see the cosy combinations people put together. You could create some outfit flat lays or take a few photos of you wearing them to post to an autumn clothes themed blog post.
5. Are you ready for sweater weather? The autumn tag
Jenn from Jenniely had created this tag for any autumn lovers to take part in. It is based on her favourite things about autumn, like the falling leaves, hot drinks and pumpkin carving and asks you to pick a book to represent your answer to each question. This is a great idea for a blog post that anyway can take part in, you don’t have to be tagged!
6. The best Halloween films
Who doesn’t love a good film night during the autumn months? Whether you’re into horror or a fantasy fan, there are so many good films to watch around this time of year. You could make a beginners guide to Halloween films list, containing films broken up by genre and fear level for those who don’t want to watch a scary film.
7. Your favourite things about autumn
I’ve written a similar blog post about this, it’s always a nice easy one to cover. Everyone seems to love autumn, the aesthetic of it all, the colours, smells, cosiness. So why not make a little list about the things you love the most, also it’s a great excuse to find some autumn aesthetic royalty-free photos to use in your post.
8. The best autumnal Instagram accounts
Autumn is the time to be on Instagram, the mini pumpkins, fallen leaves and orange colours just make it the best and most cosy platform. I love the direction everyone’s photos take when it hits fall/autumn. Feeds become warmer and make me want nothing more than to stay in bed all day with a book and my blanket. Plus it’s always nice to shout out to some of your favourite accounts!
9. Autumn self-care routines
As I’ve said, the colder months are often ones to stay in and enjoy the warmth of a heated house. This means they can also often be the perfect months for some self-care, so why not write up a little routine. With the nights drawing in and the mornings getting darker, you may find yourself feeling more tired and less productive. The sun brings happiness, so it’s important to make time for self-care in the months where the sun isn’t out as much.
10. Autumn bakes and recipes
If you’re based in the UK, you’ll know the autumn is the time for the Great British Bake Off, which means the nation turns to their kitchens and attempts to making baking masterpieces. If you’re skilled at baking, why not put together some cute autumn recipes and make a blog post from it. This may break up your usual content and appeal to an all new audience!

Love this! That Sweater Weather autumn tag was so fun 🙂
I’m so excited to write autumnal content! I already have a few ideas similar to these, and I can’t wait to take the pictures for them too hehe. I clicked on Jenn’s tag, and I love the concept! Might have to do that one this year too x
Ohh that’s a great list!
Some of thoses I wouldn’t even had thought of – like the wardrobe tour. The only thing on here that I had planned to do was the autumn tag 😂
Oooh, this is such a lovely post! I’ll definitely have to snag a few of these ideas! <3
Wonderful ideas to celebrate autumn!
So much autumn content to put up and so little time! I’m putting up my autumn reading list soon and I’d love to put out some autumn recipes, as there are a few I go back to every year 🙂

Hi,
Although we are reading this a couple few years after it was originally posted it was a great read we have just started out with our blog so it was good to read another persons thoughts on what content to create. We will definitely be using these for inspiration.
Thanks again.
