Magical Readathon TBR

The wonderful Book Roast has created such an amazing Potter themed readathon, I couldn’t not take part! The idea behind it is that you choose your future wizarding career and take the O.W.L.s to get you qualified.

Here’s Book Roast’s video telling you about this readathon in a lot more detail. G has been so creative when putting this together, down to the finest details and I can’t wait to take part with the rest of the bookish community.

Picking a career was a tough one for me, I am awful at this in real life and in the Sims… this was no different. I toyed between an Aurologist and a Magizoologist for a while before settling on the later. As a Magizoologist, I would be able to travel the world helping animals and exploring, it’s a far cry from a desk job too! Really it’s the career I’d be too scared to go for in the real world, so I’m living my dreams through my Hogwarts alter-ego.

To be a Magizoologist, I need to study four O.W.L.s and in readathon terms, these four subjects translate to four book prompts that I’ll be following:

• Care of Magical Creatures > Land animal on the cover
• Charms > Adult-line, read an adult work
• Herbology > Plant on the cover
• Potions > Next ingredient: sequel

If you saw my ARCAttack TBR blog post, you’ll know I’m also partaking in a month of reading all of my ARCs, so I’m going to try my best to combine these two.

🐉 Care of Magical Creatures // I thought I would struggle to choose a book with a land animal on the cover, but it turns out that I have quite a few! My choice for this one though will be The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashely Poston, also on my ARCAttack TBR, so a win!

Charms // For an adult work I’m going to try and pick up American Gods by Neil Gaiman, because I have heard a lot of amazing things about it and it’s been on my TBR forever!

🌿 Herbology // I’m pleased to be picking another book from my ARCAttack TBR and choosing Bloom by Nicola Skinner for this exam.

⚗️ Potions // What would realistically be my least favourite class, picking a sequel to read it tough, I’m going to go for Winter by Marissa Meyer. I don’t know why I’ve been putting myself off reading this for so long, but this is the month… maybe!

I’d love to hear about the books you’re reading at part of this readathon, it’s going to be so much fun!

  1. Ooh this looks like so much fun! Anything that helps me choose which book to knock off my TBR pile next is always good by me, aha! Good luck with American Gods – is that the one that is really long? Great post!

  2. Winter was soooo good, a little lengthy though but it wrapped up the series well. You already have The Princess and The Fangirl, so lucky I really want to get to that book, it’s gonna be amazing
