I've started making YouTube videos about books again!

You heard right, I’ve decided to return to the world of BookTube! With lockdown taking over the UK, I was finding myself with a gap in my day that I could fill with making videos! So here I am!

I used to make videos for YouTube back in 2017, but I stopped because I wasn’t loving it and I wasn’t able to keep up with it. What’s changed now you may ask? Well naturally now that I’m regularly blogging and growing every day on my other social media platforms and I’m writing a book, I thought it’d be the perfect time to start something else to work on… oh… and alongside my full-time job! I may be insane, yes, but also I needed to activate the film side of my brain again.

For those of you who don’t know, I studied Film Production at university and graduated in 2016. I haven’t really had many film-related projects to work on recently and I miss doing it. So this seemed like a perfect way to get back into it! I also love creating content for my Instagram Stories, but I wanted to create something that didn’t disappear after 24 hours.

I often get replies to my Instagram Stories telling me that the content I’ve made has helped people and that alone is enough. That means the world to me, to know I could help one single human makes all of the effort and time I put into all of this, worth it. So making YouTube videos is a way to make that content more permanent and to try and spread my little positive, yellow corner of the internet, into other platforms too.

If you want to watch my first video back, it’ll explain all of this in a bit more detail.

You can also see me answering some questions in the BookTube Newbie Tag, which I recently enjoyed taking part in.

The reception to my YouTube return has been amazing so far. So many people are supporting my channel and it makes me so happy to see people enjoying my content! I hope you guys like the videos I make. They will be more of a vlog style mainly, as this is what I feel more natural doing.

I’m only filming on the front facing camera on my iPhone 11 Pro Max, no mic kit and a little clip-on ring light for my phone. So it’s nothing pro, I have the pro kit but I honestly prefer filming on my phone for now. That will probably change in the future, but right now I’m happy with my set up.

I hope you guys enjoy my content, you can check me out here and Subscribe if you’d like to see more of my videos!

  1. This is the first time I’ve watched both your videos here in the blog. I think they’re great and I just subscribed to your channel! I’m so excited that your sister is reading Harry Potter for the first time, hope she loves it!
