Past Villager – Who is a character you found when you were younger that still has a place in your heart?
Moonface is such a squishy cinnamon role from The Magic Faraway Tree series by Enid Blyton, he will always make me smile. Who doesn’t love a friendly character with a moon for a face?
Blather’s Blatherings – Recommend a historical fiction book that you think everybody should read.
I don’t think is strictly speaking exactly the type of book this question means, but My Lady Jane is a bloody hilarious ‘historical’ fiction. It follows a slightly alternative version of Jane Grey’s history line.
Celeste’s Wish – What is a future book release you wish you could read now?
The Burning God by R. F. Kuang, the third and final book in The Poppy War trilogy, which I have been absolutely obsessed with. This series is so good, it’s fantasy quite unlike any other and I could sing its praises all day, so I can’t wait for the third book!
Timmy and Tommy – What is your favourite sibling relationship in a book?
I love the bond between Tella and Scarlett in the Caraval series, Scarlett would do anything for Tessa and Tessa cares so much for Scarlett. These two go through a lot together, but they always try to keep each other’s best interests at heart.
The Easter Bunny – A popular book character that you’re not a big fan of.
Jace of The Mortal Instruments, what an arrogant arse of a character. I don’t think I have ever disliked a character as much as I dislike Jace, and yet so many people seem to love him!
Nook’s Loans – An author you’d give all your money to.
Victoria Schwab, all day every day. Not only is she such an amazing writer, but also such a beautiful soul of a human being. I will gladly throw all of my money at her and her captivating books!
The Sisters Able – What is your favourite fictional family (found or otherwise)?
I do very much love the Weasley family. They are such good fun and have the best house ever. I love their unique dynamic, the humour, the familiarity, you can’t not read about the Weasley family and think of home.
It’s a C+ – What is a book trope that you don’t like that keeps popping up?
I really hate cheating in books, does that count as a trope? I see some books having affairs as a plot device and in that context it kind of works. But I really hate it when the cheating is just done for fun and doesn’t really further the plot and is idolised.
The Wedding Camel – What is your favourite book set in a land far away from yours?
House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas for sure, this is an urban fantasy set in a city like New York but with magical people like werewolves and fae. This is certainly a dark world, but I’d quite like to walk down its streets for a day.
What Would Dodos Do? – A fictional land you wish you could fly away to at any moment?
I’d always love to fly away to Hogwarts, who wouldn’t? Now I’m rereading the books I’m reminded again of how truly magical this setting is. I would love to endlessly stroll through the corridors, get lost on the staircases and visit Hagrid’s hut.

I loved this tag, I’ll actually do it myself pretty soon! I haven’t think about it until now, but the Weasleys are definitely one of the best families I’ve read about! I loved how they always treated Harry like another son😊
