Months are whizzing by before we can get a grasp on them, Christmases are zooming past year on year, birthdays blurring into one. How do we remember to make the most of each season?
Go on a walk
Enjoy yourself, throw some wellies in your car and a coat and take off to somewhere open and alive with nature. Find somewhere you can kick the browning leaves under your feet, and gaze out onto a landscape of reds and oranges. It’s so lovely to go out in this crisp weather and discover somewhere new. It’s very magic in Autumn, so make sure you go out and appreciate it.
Read under a blanket
We all fell guilty of complaining about the heat in the summer, not being able to get cosy and just being too hot. So take the chance to be a bit chilly, snuggle up under a blanket and read a good book. If you have a fire then even better, if not though a
cinnamon candle with suffice.
Decorate a pumpkin
Who doesn’t want to do this around Halloween time? I love coming up with a really elaborate design (thanks Pinterest) and then totally ignoring it and going with the old triangle eyes and slit mouth. It’s great fun to get stuck in with your family and make a really awesome pumpkin just in time for Halloween.
Redecorate
I’m not suggesting you repaint your house, but moving about some furniture, adding in some Autumn colours, it can be quite fun. I love fitting with the season, it makes everything around me feel cosy. This year I’ve added a mustard coloured theme into my bedroom to match the Autumnal tones and I love it!
Be crafty
There’s a lot of resources around you to inspire creativity during Autumn. The colours are beautiful, the leaves are dropping in-front of you, why not make something from them? If you’re into journaling then you could definitely use them in your pages, or maybe just press one in a favourite book to discover in years to come.
Spend time with your family
Maybe it’s the shorter nights, or the build up to festivities, but I always feel like Autumn is a time for family. Take a cosy Sunday when it’s raining upside, pop some popcorn and put on a film. How often do you all enjoy some time together at the weekends any more? Appreciate the people around you and show them some love.

I live the ‘read under a blanket’ one! I’ve actually never tried it but it seems super cozy and just fun ☺️ And I can imagine doing it with a some fairy lights and ahhhh it’s just so good!! Thanks heaps for the suggestions!! ❤️
Yes, that sounds super cosy, you should definitely give it a go!
redecorate is probably my favorite part !!
after a while, I am itching to move my furnitures around – it just give the room a new “fresh air” type sensation. I love it !
