What are the best things about Christmas?

I asked you guys on Twitter to tell me your favourite thing about Christmas, I thought it would be nice to spread the cheer by seeing how everyone celebrates. So let’s see what your answers were!

Last year I did something similar to this in my post Your Christmas Traditions, so let’s see what the answers are like this year!

I’ll start with my own: Christmas is such a festive and cosy time and I love how it unifies people and makes so many of us smile and have something to look forward to. I love the lights and the music and the sense of community the best!

“Leftover veg, including roast pots and parsnips for bubble and squeak on Boxing Day” – Kate Kensie, @kakenzie101

“Our family has a special fancy meal on Christmas Eve and goes to a carol service and then we read the story of Papa Panov” – Ninja Book Box, @NinjaBookBox

“My favourite part is taking the dogs for a walk after lunch. It refreshes me so I can manage the afternoon and gives the dogs a chance to burn off some of their excited energy.” – Sarah, @Wildsea1

“Sci-fi film watching with family. Presents is pretty good too. All things meaty and potato-e at Christmas dinner and SPROUTS I freaking love sprouts. But just thinking of each other.” – Emily Sanderson, @ea_sanderson

“For me, it’s getting to be with my daughter and family (including my amazing 90-year-old grandparents) for the whole day. I value every precious moment.” – books.tea.and.me, @booksteaandme1

“The drop in the weather, the smell of festive cooking going on in the kitchen, spiced cookies and fruit cakes, carolling in the evenings, hot chocolate and Christmas movie marathons” – Zenobia, @this_is_zenobia

“Having the day to spend time with my family and see their happy faces when they receive the gifts I gave them. And making cookies. You can’t forget about the cookies” – Spicy Geek, @astephens8788

“In the Netherlands, we make amazing snacks for the holidays, oliebollen and other fried snacks like apple beignets, but my absolute favourite is this thin waffle-like biscuit we make in my area. They are called kniepertjes and they are just the best, especially the ones my grandma makes. They are sweet and cinnamony, and are so thin they basically melt on your tongue.” – Esmée, @ServillasSpeaks
