A few weeks ago was World Book Day, which I celebrated by reading books, staring at books, buying books [affiliate], talking about books online, reading more books. To celebrate on my blog I wanted to give you a virtual tour of my bookshelves!

When I moved to my own home I was so excited to be able to have all of my books out on shelves! These two shelves are pride of place in my lounge and contain some of the books I’m most excited about and that have the prettiest covers! I love staring at these shelves at any time of day, they bring me great joy. Below are two of my author-dedicated shelves, Tolkien and Schwab, amazing authors whom I have built up quite the collection of. I’m forever growing my Lord of the Rings collection whenever I see an edition I love and as soon as V.E. Schwab releases a new book, you can bet I add it to my shelves.
The bookshelves in my lounge don’t stop here, I have several more than sit pride of place around the heart of my home. This one is accompanied by a piece of art that Lauren from FictionTea drew for me of the bookshop I’d love to own one day.
The books in the shelves above have semi themes going on. There’s a bit of a rainbow shelf near the top. Then below that on the left is my Carlos Ruiz Zafón and H. G. Parry shelf and then to the right we have my thriller shelf which needs expanding soon! I have a few other collections too like my graphic novel shelf and my David Attenborough dedicated section, complete with a personalised, signed edition of Life on Earth.
The shelves in my office are always glowing with both fairy lights and knowledge, for this is where my non-fiction sits. I have a shelf of feminist works and a shelf of historical non-fiction… basically, it’s my clever shelf, so I like to think. It’s my mission this year to read more non-fiction and so far I think I’m succeeding. Plus a few other random editions like my paperback Sarah J Maas books and some hardbacks too.
And finally, the rainbow shelves in my bedroom! These shelves are so pretty if I do say so myself. It took a while to organise them, but I love the look of a sea of rainbow spines looking at me when I’m in bed. They make me happy and are glorious to wake up to!
