It’s been a while since I’ve done a book tag, so I’m throwing one at you! Thank you to Lauren from FictionTea for tagging me in this one. I do love a bit of Potter, so this should be fun!

EXPECTO PATRONUM // A childhood book connected to good memories?

The Magic Faraway Tree, Enid Blyton

This book series made up my childhood, it is entirely filled with nonsense and silliness which is just what you need as a kid! I look forward to one day being able to enjoy this book with my own child and help them make some happy memories with the insanity of the story.

EXPELLIARMUS // A book that took you by surprise?

Daisy Jones and The Six, Taylor Jenkins Reid

I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did, the subject wasn’t something I’d usually pick up. I mainly wanted to read this because I loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo so much. But man this one just blew me away and I adored it!

PRIOR INCANTATO // The last book you read?

Memoirs of a Geisha, Arthur Golden

This book is utterly stunning, I adore the film, it’s my favourite. I don’t know why it took me so long to read this book, but it is beautiful and engaging and I’ve really enjoyed discovering this story on-page as well as the screen.

ALOHAMORA // A book that introduced you to a genre you’d never considered before?

IT, Stephen King

I didn’t think I’d be a fan of horror books, I thought I’d find them far too scary. But a few years ago I read Stephen King’s IT and loved it, I read it over the course of a week and couldn’t get enough.

RIDDIKULUS // A funny book you’ve read?

In At The Deep End, Kate Davies

This book was so funny, I loved it and can’t wait for more by this author. It’s rare for a book to truly have me laughing out loud, but this one did a good job of achieving it!

SONORUS // A book you think everyone should know about?

The Shadow of the Wind, Carlos Ruiz Zafón

It seems people have either loved this book or never heard of it. For me, it opened a door to a new genre of historical, thriller, clever, exciting books. I love the world this author creates and how the main plot focuses on very special books.

OBLIVIATE // A book or spoiler you would like to forget you ever read?

What If It’s Us, Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera

I really enjoyed this book, but about halfway through someone spoiled the ending for me. I still enjoyed reading it, but it wasn’t the same once I knew the outcome. I’d definitely like to have unseen that.

IMPERIO // A book you had to read for school?

The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini

This one was a pleasant surprise for a school curriculum book. The story was very important to read about and it’s a book I’m not glad I had to read. I enjoyed the author and went on to also read A Thousand Splendid Suns by him too.

CRUCIO // A book that was painful to read? 

They Both Die at the End, Adam Silvera

As the title would suggest, I went into this book ready to be destroyed. This has haunted me ever since I read it, it is extremely sad and really makes you think. In short. It ruined me and was very painful to read.

AVADA KEDAVRA // A book that could kill (interpret as you will)?

A Game of Thrones, George R.R. Martin

Because everyone dies. Ever. In this series. Get attached to no one. It kills.
