We’ve all had the thought of, I really should have read that book that everyone keeps recommending me, but we still haven’t picked it up. Inspired by the amount of books I am asked if I have read and I have to say no, introducing the ‘I should have read that book’ tag!

My Answers
A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read
I have plenty I could list to answer this question, but the first that comes to mind is for me to finish reading The Bone Season. FictionTea is very enthusiastic about this series (that may be an understatement), so I really do want to push through and continue with the other two books. I read the first via Audible a few years ago, but honestly, the narrator bugged me a little so I didn’t love it.
A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up
I’m a big Neil Gaiman fan, when I discovered him, I bought all of his works and since then I have been slowly working my way through them. The most daunting one on that pile is definitely American Gods, it has been sat that for what feels like forever, and I still haven’t picked it up! Maybe I will listen to the audiobook for this one.
A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet
I am still one off finishing The Lunar Chronicles, having read and really enjoyed Cinder, Scarlet and Cress. Winter is just sat there… staring at me. I really want to finish this series and I don’t know why I haven’t yet. It’s one I’ve consistently enjoyed, so maybe I just don’t want it to end!
A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read
After reading Tilly and the Bookwanderers, I’d really like to read either The Little Princess or Anne of the Green Gables. In this book Tilly is able to enter the world of books and meet their characters, these two books were heavily features, so I’d love to read them and know more about the stories. I was certainty left feeling inspired!
A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read
The Shadow and Bone series by Leigh Bardugo, or the Grishaverse! I’ve read Six of Crows, but I wasn’t blown away by it, I think I’m maybe due a reread of it. But I know generally people don’t rate the other series set in this world, still though, I would like to understand why people love this universe so much, especially with a TV series on the horizon!
A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet
My favourite film is Memoirs of a Geisha, so why have I not read this book?! Honestly I have no idea, because the film is beautiful and amazing and I know I will love the book. I suppose I’m somewhat worried that I will read it and not love it and let myself down in my enjoyment of this story. At least I know I love the film, but I will one day get around to this one!
A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet
Right now I am seeing The Wicked King alllll over Instagram, on every scroll it is there! I honestly have zero interest in picking this one up though. I disliked The Cruel Prince enough that at around 100 pages, I DNF’d it and I don’t really want to pick it back up. The characters and the plot really annoyed me, no matter how much everyone raves about the sequel, I’m still not tempted to keep going with the series!
So those are my answers, thank you so much for reading. Please feel free to take part in this tag yourself, even if you haven’t been tagged. Just follow the rules up the top and enjoy!

This tag seems like fun! I have seen The Wicked King ALLL over twitter. I have yet to read The Cruel Prince or any book by Holly Black. I don’t really know why, but I guess I should get on it and see if I will enjoy her books as much as most people have. Great picks! All of the books you mentioned I have read yet. I am so behind on my TBR list.
Thanks Bailey, do feel free to add it to your own blog if you fancy 💛
My license plate says Kaz. I will say no more. 🙂
Haha, quite a cool plate to have!
Memoirs of a Geisha is such a good book. I haven’t seen the film though.
The film is just excellent, I have a lot of love for it!
I’m generally late to getting around to reading most of the newer hyped books. This is because I’m busy trying to catch up on the ones from previous years and getting distracted by other books. Some of the books I can’t wait to get my hands on are The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon, Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson, Queen of Air & Darkness by Cassandra Clare and Tilly and The Book Wanderers.
So many books, so little time!
I could always do with some more time to read!
I loved your original tag and your answers to each question. 🙂

Thanks for taking part Dax!
This tag looks like fun! I think I’ll be giving it a go ☺️
Thanks Amy, I’d love to see your answers!
This is a great tag! I loved your answers. The Bone Season is a great read. I loved Wicked King but I think if you DNF The Cruel Prince at that point you may not enjoy it.
Thank you so much!
I love this tag! It’s a really great idea. Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology has been on my TBR for ages! I love mythology books so I think I’d like it too but I’m not sure 😅 The Wicked King is EVERYWHERE! I read an excerpt of The Cruel Prince and I didn’t like it so I didn’t get the full book. I’m even less interested in The Wicked King 😂😂

I’m glad I’m not the only one who didn’t enjoy The Cruel Prince!
I am far too lazy to do tags but I always enjoy seeing how other people respond
Glad you enjoyed reading it!
Nice tag. I’ve just started book two in a series. I read the first in 2017 and have been meaning to pick up the second for ages but never got there.
I hope you’re enjoying it!
Great tag, I love your answers. You really do need to read Winter that one was my favourite in the series. I’m going to bookmark this one ready for when I’m next doing a tag.
Gemma @ http://www.gemmasbooknook.blogspot.com
Definitely need to finish this one and catch up with the series!
Love this tag! I second that you should totally read The Bone Season – it’s so freaking good!
Definitely need to get round to it!
My answers would be the same as yours for most of these!
💛💛
I haven’t read The Bone Season or The Wicked King yet either, so you’re not alone there! I’m hoping to read The Wicked King in the next few weeks though, as I have it checked out of the library. 🙂 Thanks so much for tagging me, I’ll be posting my answers soon!
Yay, I hope you enjoy taking part Kate! I look forward to seeing your answers 💛
Hehe thanks! I’m going to post mine very soon! 🙂
Yay, will be checking it out!
I definitely want to read American Gods sometime, too! I’m really liking the TV show and would 10/10 like to further fall into the whole storyline and the different character arcs and aspects/elements that are used throughout the book. It’s just totally interesting to me!
It sounds so cool, I really need to pick it up!
This tag was great! If you haven’t read them yet, I highly recommend the Anne of Green Gables books!
Hey, this tag is so fun. Can I do it too?
