Lady Bird
This film is a coming of age about Lady Bird, a strong-willed teen trying to make her way to college.
The Devil Wears Prada
This is the perfect cosy film about Andy trying to make her way as a journalist, whilst starting her career at fashion magazine Runway.
A League of their Own
I adore this film, it’s about women playing American Baseball during the war and the friendships and families formed, it’s emotional!
Films to watch when you want a bit of fantasy
Lord of the Rings
Does this really need any explaining? The extended editions would be best to watch too!
Harry Potter
Who doesn’t love a Harry Potter film on a long night filled with blankets, chocolate and cuddling up on the sofa?
Twilight
Popular opinion wanted this film on the list, there’s definitely something cosy and familiar about it.
Films to watch when you want to laugh
Thor: Ragnarok
Good god, this film is funny, the third in the Thor Marvel series and I promise it will have you laughing a lot!
Beetlejuice
I wasn’t sure where to put this one, but I think it’s so weird that you just have to laugh, it’s about a dead husband and wife trying to ‘haunt’ their old house.
Cheaper by the Dozen
I had to add this one on the list, it used to crack me up as a kid and there’s something so wholesome about it that makes it perfect for a cosy night in.
Films to watch when you want to go on an epic journey
Forrest Gump
Run Forrest RUN! This film is a classic and takes you on a journey through Forrest’s life.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Have your thinking cap on for this one, it is a twisting and turning film of one woman trying to move on.
The Lake House
This is a beautiful love story about two people who live in the same house and fall in love, despite not living in the same time.
There are some amazing movies on this list! Thank you for all the recs, it can’t be a pain to sit just shifting through channels/streaming apps to find something to watch.

The Lake House is one of my mum’s favourite films and it’s been so long since we’ve watched it that I think it’s high time for us to watch it again. The Lord of the Rings (Extended Edition) is my go-to comfort film. It’s my favourite franchise and no matter how many times I watch it, I still get chills.
I ADORE this list!! I’ve seen and loved almost all of these titles. I love all the romance picks, About Time is probably my fav out of that group! YES to LOTR, especially EEs because of all those fab extra scenes. (I adore the Appendices too hehe.) A League of their Own is one of my FAVS!!! Haven’t seen it in years & now I’m thinking I need to pop it on soon x
