A month of Christmas celebrations

Merry Christmas! I’m allowed to say that now because we’re officially into December! I am a great lover of Christmas, I wasn’t always, but I was won over a few years ago. I love feeling festive and it makes me happy, so I’m embracing that! 🎄

Christmas and social media go well together, creating content during December is always so fun and festive and I love it! So this is an introduction to my Christmas themed month of content. I have my blog here, my Instagram and my Twitter, all of which will be my platforms of choice to spread some Christmas cheer and really feel engaged in the festive season on and offline.

There’s such magic in the air for children at Christmas and now as an adult, I’m trying to capture that feeling still. I like with my sister who is seven so we still get that childhood magic, but we have our own celebrations that we’ve kept up since I was young. As a teen, I feel a bit out of love with Christmas and the hype for it, which was a shame.

I'm dedicating the month of December to celebrating Christmas on my blog, Twitter and Instagram with festive themed content.

I think I mainly started to enjoy Christmas again when I went to university in Winchester, the city of Christmas. The Christmas Market there is famous in the UK and just stunning. It’s hard not to feel Christmassy around so much festive cheer. I also really enjoy buying my mum presents for Christmas and this started to become something I put more time into around my uni days too. Since then I’ve only gone more over the top because I just can’t help myself, I love giving gifts.

I know a lot of people don’t think Christmas should be celebrated until the day itself, but I love it. I think if we’re not doing them any harm by celebrating it, then why make us feel bad about it? As far as I’m concerned, it’s a festive time of year that makes people happy. I know it isn’t for everyone and people will have their own reasons for not celebrating or enjoying it, but for those who do enjoy Christmas and celebrate it, I say roll out the green and red! I started watching Christmas films in mid-November and did a lot of my Christmas shopping then too.

So consider this your Christmas warning that BooksNest is about to become the hub of all Christmas festivities in the form of blog posts, photos and more!
