How to get in the Christmas spirit

If you’re trying to get into the Christmas spirit and can’t wait to feel that buzz of excitement, here’s a few things that I think are perfect for conjuring up that festive feeling!

• Christmas Films

Obviously watching back to back Christmas movies is a brilliant way to feel in the festive mood. For me, A Christmas Carol, never fails to get me in the Christmas spirit. There’s something about it, such a cosy and warm film that I can’t help be feel festive. I especially like the muppets version.

• Christmas/Winter themed books

Some books just make you think Christmas right? Whether they’re set in the snow like Narnia, or a winter tale like The Nutcracker. In books we find cosines and this is the time of year where we’re meant to be able to relax and get some reading and chilling done!

• Search the word ‘Christmas’ on Pinterest.

This one works wonders for me, I just search for Christmas or winter and I’m flooded with aesthetically pleasing images of families on Christmas morning, trees being decorated, or snow falling on a village. Here’s my Christmas board on Pinterest if you wanted to check it out.

• Write a Christmas list

Whether it’s your wish list, or a list of presents you need to buy, it’s exciting to get in the Christmas shopping frame of mind. I just did a big chunk of mine and I feel ready to do some wrapping with a Christmas film on in the background. I love buying gifts, it’s exciting to be able to offer my family things to make them smile.

• Decorate your home

This one never fails to make me feel Christmassy. Putting the tree up and remembering all of the decorations from years past, it’s so exciting. I love gradually seeing my neighbours lights go up and having our whole road turn into a festive display. Plus, then you get to spend your evenings reading next to a beautiful Christmas tree!

What makes you feeling all Christmassy?

Love all the suggestions and will be going to my local book store to check out some Christmas themed books. Definitely a great way to end the night or during the day when I’m resting. Will also be adding Christmas films to my list. Thank you for all the lovely suggestions!
